What Is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state in which we are highly receptive to suggestion. We experience it in our daily life, such as when we are intently focused on a project, engrossed in a movie, or deeply involved in the storyline of a book. In this state, our imagination is open and we allow our logic to be suspended.
How Can Hypnosis Help Me Make a Positive Change?
Our behavior is driven by what exists in our unconscious mind as memories, habits, and beliefs. Since hypnosis activates the unconscious mind, this means it can be used to view memories in a better and healthier way, break old habits while establishing new patterns of behavior, and institute beliefs that allow us to make positive changes.
What Is the Process Like?
Hypnosis is an easy process. The hypnotist begins the session with words of relaxation, which will allow your conscious mind to relax, as your subconscious mind is activated. Next, techniques such as direct suggestion, storytelling, and visualizations will be used by the hypnotist to help you make the wanted change. As hypnosis is not a one-size-fits-all process, the methods used are specific to the individual client, their responses to the various techniques, and the particular circumstances of their situation. The session concludes with emerging from the hypnotic state, at which time you will feel relaxed and focused.
