Why Can Hypnosis Help Me Change?
Our behavior is driven by what exists in our Unconscious Mind as memories, habits, and beliefs. This means that with hypnosis we can understand memories in a better way, break old habits while establishing new ones, and institute supportive beliefs that allow us to make positive changes.
Since the Unconscious Mind also controls the functioning of the body, such as the beating of the heart, it means hypnosis can help with physical conditions, such as regulating blood pressure and pain management.
Most people believe it's our Conscious Mind, the part that is logical and analytical, that drives our behavior. This is because the Conscious Mind is, as the name states, what we are consciously aware of. Resolving to change using solely the Conscious Mind rarely succeeds, as it requires 24x7 diligence, constant willpower and determination.

A common misconception of hypnosis is that a person enters an unconscious state, magic words are recited, then they wake up and life is changed for the better! While hypnosis does not work in this magical way, it is a powerful tool that makes those changes easier and more automatic.
The hypnotist will first guide the individual into a trance state, which feels like pleasant relaxation. The techniques used by the hypnotist are dependent on the particular issue of the client. These techniques may include story telling, direct suggestion, and visualization.
